Tonight I saw British-born journalist Richard Wolffe on both CNN and on his regular spot with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. He's usually commenting on the day's American political news, but he's now also promoting his new book, Renegade. Wolffe covered the entire campaign of President Obama, from the day he announced he was running until Election Day 2008. He was a senior writer at Newsweek at the time and now writes for Tina Brown's The Daily Beast.

Cousin of my friend got an email that his card production has been ordered.
He falls in EB3I (PD Aug. 2005). I could not believe it but my friend told me that
EB3I would see significant movement in coming months.

Company A:
EB-2 PD: Mar 03, Labor, I-140 approved.
then moved to company B.
Company B:
EB-2 PD: August 05. Labor, I-140 approved, I-485 pending.
Want to move back to Company A as Company A is willing to continue; so need to inter-file my I-485 from Company B to Company A. Did you guys do this before? If so, what is the procedure? How do we know if the inter-filing is succeded? Do you have any success or failure stories?
Please help.. every hint helps me in making decision.

True, the EB based categories are the ones mentioned whenever the benefits of having immigration is discussed, but when it comes to actions, we are the last category to get solutions :eek:

I am currently in Dallas. For applying a duplicate passport, it is OK if i Mail my application through USPS express mail which provides acknowledment . Can anybody please tell me if there is any problem with this?

Your H1b will be cancelled without prejudice. You can have only 1 typeof visa stamped on your passport

Hi,
Is it possible for a resident of Pune to apply for a tourist visa at the Hyderabad consulate? The Mumbai consulate doesn't seem to have any openings online, so not sure how to make an appt with the Mumbai consulate..

Hi,
As most of you know, there is a conference call today(Sunday) at 3:00 EST. Please obtain the details of WHERE TO CALL and PASSCODE by calling 281-576-7185 if you do not have it already.
During the conference call: (The moderator would cover this but a little heads up never hurt anyone :) )
1. Please avoid using the speakerphone. It creates echo. :)
2. Press 4 * (four star) after joining the call to go on MUTE mode. When you want to speak press 4 * again and your line would be unmuted. You would help greatly by muting your line when listening to avoid the noise/sounds chiming in from about 80-100 lines.:)

Hello everyone,
I have heard that if you cancel your first LC and apply for a Second one you can still use the advertisements and all from the first one if you fall withing that "6 month" period. My question is -
Is it 6 month from the first day that the advertisement was published or is it 6 month from the day your first LC was approved? :confused:
Experts please shed some light on this.

Hi,
A couple of events are happening in my life now:
* My current L1-B expires in June
* I am getting married in April - So I am traveling to India in April, returning in May.
* My company is planning to apply for my L1-B extension.
* My future wife will try to get her L2 in April, after our marriage, planning to come with me in May.
I hear that i am not supposed to be traveling while the L1-B is being extended. I also hear that the consulate may reject L2 if the L1 is about to expire.
1. Are these above rumors true ?
2. Is there a problem if my company applies for my L1-B extension and I travel to India at the same time ?

I want to that till how much time is the petition valid , if I dont go for stamping.
Also , suppose my company withdraws the petition, so now till how much duration my cap number is valid?
Expiration date will be mentioned on I-797 approval notice
you will be counted only once against cap. and you can be on H1/L1 for total of 6 years (without a break) - ofcourse assumption is that you never file for a GC

I have applied for my PERM Labor Certification on Aug, 6th'07. My status online shows "IN PROCESS". DOL called my employer's contact to verify submission on Aug, 15th'07.
My Lawyer states that rather than preparing for I-140 / I-485. I would be best served in working on preparing a response to the audit that will be coming, because of the Spanish language requirement.
Is he just getting ready for a "just-in-case" audit...? Should I prepare the I-140 and deal with the audit on the 30-days if DOL sends the Audit letter? How long would it take to receive this letter?
Enjoying the ride....
