My online status shows
"On August 17, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS..........................."
My recepit date was however July 2nd 2007. Are they processing my application or they go by received date of 8/17?
can someone explain how this works?
no one knows..if u call up the cust service ppl.. they will say we received it on aug 17th..so thats the RD..we know better...but doesnt get us anywhere

The first point on the august visa bulletin says:
Allocations were made, to the extent possible under the numerical limitations, for the demand received by July 13th in the chronological order of the reported priority dates.
If the demand could not be satisfied within the statutory or regulatory limits, the category or foreign state in which demand was excessive was deemed oversubscribed.
does this means a visa was allocated to all applications received by jun 13??

Go back and look at the forum postings. There are much more amenable and practical suggestions made. This PD thing doesn't pass the basic test: was there a precedence or prior history, can it be done and does it lessen the time for one to apply for I-485 and GC. Does it reduce backlog?

It is not the right thing -- from your perspective, because you can't take advantage of it. From the USA point of view multinational executives can potentially create jobs and that's why they must be allowed

They are here to to make the transition happen from Onshore to Offshore. I have complete knowledge on how this EB1 thing works , as I was one of them once upon a time before taking up my current job.
And to make things more clear, I didn't quit the job just because I wasn't getting a chance to file in EB1, its because you are expected to work 24/7, Yes I mean 24/7 having to take calls midnight, logging and working from home in odd hours, any day time with offshore, onshore, clients and paid like 65k. Life sucked and I couldn't take it any more and had to leave..
I'll stop and leave it here....

Don't we need the consent of the petitioner (employer)? Please see the line item # 15.
Yes, you will need the consent of your I-140 petitioner (employer) to send this form. So there is no point in sending the form, if you cannot get your employer to sign it. Basically, its an employer petition and hence Ombudsman's office their consent to assist you.

When they can process 18K 485 in a day and 60K in a month, then these EADs and APs are miniscule for their efficiency. Ohh god, forgot to mention that too they worked on weekend. So they are ready for weekend work if required. So look at the below calc.
Yes, realistically, the estimated apps are 750K considering 500K primary and 250 dependents. This is can go up if the dependends increase. So assume a million in worst case scenario.
18K 485 a day = 50K EAD / AP a day.
Hence
50K EAD/AP in one day = 50K * 30 = 1500K in a month. So it would only 20 days to get your EAD / AP even if million people apply. Hmm let them not work on weekends now.

Hence
180K EAD / month = 5 months
Above is worst case scenario with 1million apps. So dont worry, you should be getting your EAD faster now than before.

I love the idea of monthly subscription website what does the core think. This works just like AILA does.
I know many of friends who use IV as recourse for NEWS but they don't register nor contribute. Even after multiple reminders and sarcastic comments they don't. I feel pity for them, they don't understand by registering and contributing they help them self and others. Shouldn�t we make IV a monthly subscription web site? That way we will have only serious members.

I just got a response today from my employer that my labor has been approved today :D under EB3. It was applied on March 29 & approved today (May 25) its just shy of 2 months.
Congrats! That is encouraging to hear. My EB2 was filed on Apr 19, so hopefully will take another month...

me and my spouse filed 1485 in july 2007 with a received date of 10/07/07.
we donot see anychanges online other than the case received and pending notice.
is there a way we can find the status of our case.if name check is cleared,any further finger printing as we only did once in 2007.ours is eb3.any input highly appreciated.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

Does it mean the eligibility criteria/job requirement for EB2 is changed from Bachelors + 5 years of experience to Bachelors + 10 years of experience?

They clearly broke the law...this is the first time we see the officials at ucsics confirming this and the weekend work. Perhaps, they figured out they need to admit it before they are forced to do so.

I think sending out emails to everyone wont serve the purpose. It will become more of a Spam from IV, which won't help in any way.
AFAIK, IV sends email to its members, when they have updates. I hope this helps.
Also, all the state chapter leaders have been asked to sent out emails to their respective state chapters. So, people will be knowing about this campaign.
GO IV GO. TOGTHER WE CAN.
A request to the IV Core/Admins/Moderators
Can we please send out NOT mass emails, but a MASS Private Message (PM) to all users to contribute to the High Five Campaign.
