I made address changes to pending EAD renewal and I-485 yesterday in the afternoon for myself and spouse. Same day later in the evening I got email saying CPO for EAD renewal. This is a story of 8/20/2008.

I tried called 800 number and was told that they can't verify that address was successfully changed on the application.THey don't have access to personal information. They are asking me to take Inforpass to verify the address.

There is no LUD on either I-485 or EAD renewal after address change. Is LUD an indication that address change has been done? There are no infopass available for 2 months ( I will keep checking if somebody cancels )

Does anybody has any pointer as to how I can verify address change without infopass

Hi,

I am renewing advance parole (i-131 form) for me and my wife. Can some one answer what the "class of admission" means on the form and how do we fill it?

I entered the US as H1-B but moved to EAD status last month.
My wife entered the US on advance parole and is currently working on EAD.

My I-94 extension (for L1B visa) was denied on Oct '08 and I returned in 4 days after they updated Denial status. Reason for denail is "lack of specialized knowledge". I am planning to apply for L1B again in next month (By showing additional certification). Can you please advice me

- is it fine to apply for visa again as it will be more then 6 months after it was denied

- Do I need to show the copy of denial notice during visa interview? Is there any thread available providing suggestions for those applying for visa again after it was denied earlier...

My employer is not willing to give the user id and password of the secured sire through which they filed the labor.

Status of PERM can only be checked by your employer (with their user id and password of the secured site). Unfortunately there is no other way to check the status.

I have filed for the 7nth year extension based on my pending labor (365 days old). The perm is picked up for an audit. Incase if the perm is denied, will h1b also be rejected ?

As per my understanding, your H1 will not be denied but you will not be eligible for any subsequent extensions unless at that time you have one more perm pending for over 1 yr or I-140 approved.

I would recommend you find another employer or file perm through some one else as future employee. 30% perms in audit are denied after 2 yrs wait.

This reporter has got it right. The U.S. is obsessed with importing poverty from poor non-assimilated immigrants (mostly illegal) and shunning high-skilled immigrants who assimilate and increase the country's living standards. Gurus,

I wanted to see if anybody on a US visitor visa travelled from US (New York) to Canada and back on Amtrak. I have following questions.

1. Where do you surrender I-94 (at NY station or at the US border entering into Canada).
2. Amtrak's website does not say much about the entry to US in detail. If you can provide detail that would be very helpful. What if they do a detailed check on you and you miss the train, what are your options. I assume they give you a new I-94 at the US-Canada border when re-entering USA.
3. Any other useful information that you can provide will be helpful.

I guess no complications unless USCIS asks for employment verification at the time of approving the case. He should continue to file for Income tax retrun for 2010 and also need to work for few months in 2011 to file for return.

I applied for the I-140 and I-485 at the same time last October 9th 2009. I was requested an RFE in February of 2010 which they received back in March before the deadline. The RFE was looking for some basic info. I am still awaiting a response to the RFE or approval of the I-140. My job is currently going through tough times and there are rumors I will be laid of on April 30th. My question is that after April 9th(180 days after i filled I-140 and I-485) can i move jobs to a similar role before my I-140 is approved and if so what do i need to do.

My Wife had her COS from H4-H1, and I filed my I-485 in July with my wife as secondary applicant and already got our EAD,AP. We are planning to Visit India this month and my wife wants to use her AP while travelling back to US.

1. Is it advisable or are there any issues with using AP.
2. Can she use AP that she received as a secondary applicant and continue to work on H1B with her current employer
3. In Case her Status changes to EAD, can we reinstate her H1B at any point in time without counted against H1B Cap.

I moved apartments and in the process unfortunately lost all my passport and visa documents. I do not have the original I-797 with me anymore. I have only a photocopy.

My I-797 was extended till may 2012 though my visa stamp on my passport expires this year. I was supposed to travel to India to get the visa stamped in May.

Can I still travel without an original I-797? What is the procedure? Can somebody please help?!!
